After School Care Supervisor
St Georgeʼs British International School is seeking an After School Care Supervisor to join La Storta Junior School in September 2025. The After School Care Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an after-school club, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and providing a stimulating environment. The role involves implementing policies, procedures and practices within the club in line with the agreed principles of the after school club (stay and play) ethos.
This role also involves supervising other staff (numbers dependent), implementing policies in regards to health and safety and safeguarding and taking a lead in operating the club.

- Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision and care
- Maintain the safety, welfare and good conduct of the pupils in the after school club
- Undertake the daily supervision of the children, developing and maintaining high standards to ensure the welfare and safety of children at all times.
- Supervise staff to ensure they provide high-quality care for children and are compliant with policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Take a daily register of attendance and submit weekly attendance records to accounts for invoicing purposes.
- Report back to the appropriate member of staff using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the after school club, or any other issues that may be relevant.
- Club Operations
- Oversee the daily activities, snacks, and ensure all resources are tidied away and the environment left in a good condition.
- Ensure pupils have access to appropriate activities to support their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development, giving consideration to their cultural and linguistic needs.
- Take a key role in suitably equipping the after school club in order to provide a stimulating environment for the pupil.
- Ensure that high standards are maintained with regards to how the club runs, use of resources and staff expectations to ensure the mìneeds of all pupils are met.
- Review and assess all aspects of the after-school program to ensure a safe environment.
- Safety and security
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by implementing and adhering to safety standards and policies and an agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene both before, during and after each session.
- Supervise the safe escorting of pupils to ensure their wellbeing at all times.
- Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies arising according to the school's policies and procedures.
- Communication
- Communicate with parents about programme activities, concerns, and needs at the end of each session (as appropriate).
- Attend regular meetings with the Head of Junior regarding the running of the after school club.
- Attend relevant training (as required).
- Policy and procedure implementation
- Ensure adherence to and enforcement of all policies and procedures pertinent to the running of the after school club - safeguarding, health and safety, first aid and behaviour.
- Demonstrate an understanding of child protection and health and safety responsibilities.
- Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School's Equal Opportunities Policy
- General
- The post holder will be expected to act as an adult role model and support school policies when dealing with pupils, parents, carers, visitors and all members of the school community.
- Ensure confidentiality is adhered to at all times.
- The duties above are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the postholder may be required by the Line Manager to carry out appropriate duties within the context of the job.
- Hours of work 3.30pm - 6pm daily Monday to Friday (when the school is in session and term time only)

- Demonstrate professional curiosity in relation to each student’s wellbeing and welfare, and foster the personal and social developments of each student in their care
- Actively promote the social, moral and cultural ethos of the school community
- Create an atmosphere of support by being aware of, and fully compliant with, all of the school’s pastoral policies
- Be familiar with all the school’s policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring the safety of all members of the school community at all times
- Promote exemplary behaviour and a responsible attitude amongst pupils
- Be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children

- Experience of working with children across the Primary Age range (3-11 years)
